William Bedwell, who was the Rector of All Hallows fromwas a well-known and respected historian for Tottenham and he had written: “The Church, being for a country village as Tottenham is, a reasonable large and fayre one, with a pleasant tunable ring of five bells, standeth upon an hill, inuironed on the west, north and east, with.

The church and congregation of All Hallows, Tottenham exist to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people of our community, and to call them to a living faith in God through him. We seek to welcome all people into the family of the Church, irrespective of background, capability or circumstances of life.

All Hallows was the only Church of England church in Tottenham until ; Holy Trinity church on Tottenham Green, which stands between the homes of BG Windus and Priscilla Wakefield, was not there at that time of his visits.

Luke Howard, whose scheme for naming clouds influenced Constable, moved to a house on Tottenham Green in   The church of Tottenham was given by David, King of Scotland,in the 12th century, to the canons of the Holy Trinity in London (fn. ),to whom it was appropriated till the dissolution of that monastery,when the rectorial manor of Tottenham, with the advowson of thevicarage, were granted in fee, annoto William Lord Howard,and his wife.

"All Hallows is an Anglican church in Tottenham, North London. It is one of the oldest buildings in Notes with refernce to Allhollows church London Borough of Haringey, being built as All Saints Church in the 12th century. It was re-dedicated as All Hallows in the 15th century, standing adjacent to Bruce Castle and Tottenham Cemetery.

It is reputed to have been given to Tottenham by King David I of Scotland. Tottenham was first recorded in the “Domesday Book” ofas Toteham, from the Old English personal name “Totta”, and “ham”, meaning home-stead.

For a building that is almost years old there is a mass of local history to hold, so the the vast majority of Church Records are held at the London Metropolitan Archives. REASONS FOR DESIGNATION: The church of All Hallows, Tottenham is designated at Grade II* for the following principal reasons: * C14 parish church greatly extended in the C19 to designs by William Butterfield, retaining considerable fabric while adding in a new phase of note.

The Sherburnes, descendants of the Norman de Mittons, built the Shireburne Chapel at All Hallows' church, (aka. Mitton Church) in Great Mitton next to the original manor hall site of Ralph the Red. The Chapel was first started in and completed in by Sir Richard Shireburne.
